Lapland's magical gift: An enthralling children's playground takes shape in Kyiv
A children's playground as part of the Finnish charity project "Joy of Play" is being installed at 1 Hetmana Street in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district, according to the Kyivzelenbud municipal association.
The central play element will be the Super Cube, designed by the Finnish company Lappset Group. Made of Nordic pine, it was brought from Rovaniemi, the residence of Santa Claus in Lapland.
About 60 children will be able to play in the cube simultaneously, with two large metal slides descending from both sides of the structure. The children's playground is scheduled to open in the spring of 2024, according to Kyivzelenbud.
The "Joy of Play" project was founded by the Hartwall family from Finland. Finnish and Danish companies, including Reima, Lappset, and Nilpeter, as well as the all-Ukrainian public association "Institute Republica" and the company "Novi Horizonty 2005" participated in its creation.
