Films and TV series starring a Russian actor have been blocked in Ukraine. Why is the decision being criticized
Film critics fear that viewers may "settle" on pirated websites.
Ukrainian streaming services have blocked access to a number of films and episodes of TV series, including a season of "Game of Thrones" and an action movie from Marvel. The reason is that Yuri Kolokolnikov, a Russian actor who is on the Ukrainian "blacklist" for promoting the Kremlin, starred in them.
Film critics warn that such a decision could do more harm than good and make the Ukrainian film market less attractive.
