At least seven architectural monuments of local importance damaged in Lviv during Russia's attack
A Russian night attack on Lviv has resulted in significant damage to the regional Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as seven architectural landmarks of local significance, according to Maksym Kozytskyy, the head of the Lviv Oblast Military Administration.
The Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is housed in the Villa of Józefa Franz, a historic building dating back to 1893, which is listed as a local architectural landmark.
"The historic building was damaged. Over 70 windows were shattered. The shockwave blew out the frames. Ceilings collapsed in six offices. Radiators were torn off. Computers and medical equipment were destroyed," Kozytskyy wrote in a post.
He added that none of the center's staff or security personnel were injured.
During the attack, at least seven architectural landmarks of local significance were also damaged, particularly on Konovaltsia and Kokorudza Streets.
All the affected buildings are located in the historic area and the UNESCO buffer zone, and are listed in the State Register of Immovable Landmarks of Ukraine.
"A commission comprising representatives of the cultural heritage protection bodies of the city and region will begin working on the sites and compiling inspection reports as soon as emergency services grant access," Kozytskyy added.
The number of casualties from the Russian strike on Lviv has risen to seven, including three children. Over 30 people were injured.
