Porto is the second largest city in Portugal, located in the north of the country on the picturesque Douro River. Here you can endlessly stroll through narrow streets, admire the various tiles (azulejos) on the buildings and count the endless terracotta tiled roofs from the viewing platforms.

The city of port wine and hills, full of the smells of seafood and pâtés, ancient architecture in a unique combination with abandoned houses and white and blue azulejos, captivates with its simplicity and authenticity.

Porto is often overshadowed by the charming Lisbon, which makes you fall in love with it at first sight. But this city is definitely worth your attention, because it shows the real Portugal: lively, old, sometimes neglected, sometimes poor, but with an ocean soul and the art of azulejos at every turn.
