At three years old, a child can eat with a spoon, dress himself, and use the toilet. After four, he can water flowers and put away toys. But some parents still consider their toddler too young and do not allow him to show initiative.

How to teach a child to be alone without fear? How to support their self-confidence and gradually build responsibility without excessive control?

LIGA.Life asked Yulia Kychyla about this – the owner of the Hello Kids innovative kindergarten network, a participant in the TV show "Supermom" and the mother of five-year-old Alisa.

If you want your child to learn to make important decisions, not be afraid to take responsibility — that is, to grow up confident in themselves — give them space for independence.

According to Yulia Kichilya, it is better to start from two or three years old: it is during this period that babies develop a desire to do everything on their own. Are you going for a walk and your baby wants to put on his shoes? Do not suppress this initiative with the phrase: "You are still small! Let me help!". On the contrary, support this attempt. In general, you should not wait for the moment when the child wants to do something on his own. You can contribute to this process yourself.
