Deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, 16 km from Colorado Springs, hidden beneath a thick layer of granite, lies a city unseen on any map. This is the Cheyenne Mountain Complex – the secret command center of NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command), which for over half a century has served as the last line of defense for the United States.

The underground fortress, which serves as a secure center for the U.S. top leadership, exists not only as a symbol of the Cold War. It is still ready to accommodate the president in the event of a nuclear strike, cyberattack, or any other catastrophe.
