"Regeneration" after war: how women rebuild themselves and find the strength to live on

The war destroyed the familiar world, leaving behind pain, loss and deep psychological wounds. For many Ukrainian women, it became a challenge not only of physical safety, but also of inner resilience. The Regeneration program was created specifically for those who found themselves between fear and the need to move on, who are looking for support and understanding, but do not know where to find them.
Through personal stories of participants who overcame feelings of emptiness and powerlessness, and comments from experts explaining the importance of professional psychological help, LIGA.net tells the story of the path to recovery and new meanings in life – step by step.
Psychological support during war
There is no magic pill, only systematic work can bring results, emphasizes Olga Serdyuk, Director of the Olena Pinchuk Foundation
"The culture of caring for mental health is not yet sufficiently developed in Ukraine, and long-term work with a specialist is often inaccessible to many.
"The war affected each of us in our own way, and regardless of the depth of the trauma, everyone needs professional support. It is important to admit in time that you need help and not be ashamed to ask for it," says Serdyuk.
