"What if something happens?!": Why we feel financial anxiety, regardless of our wealth, and what to do about it

Why is there still no peace even when there's enough money? We constantly check our accounts, postpone purchases, worry about the dollar exchange rate – it seems like we're just taking care of our finances, but inside there's anxiety. It subtly exhausts us, making us afraid to lose control.

Three experts spoke to LIGA.net about what financial anxiety is, why even high-income individuals experience it, and how to cope with it. Oksana Zinko, PhD, associate professor, and psychologist explained the nature of this condition; Svetlana Gulivata, a Gestalt therapist, discussed the beliefs that fuel anxiety and how to change them; and Alexey Gerashchenko, an economist and professor at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, shared practical advice on how to reduce worry about money.
