The ranking included, among others, the capricciosa from 180grammi Pizzeria Romana in Rome, the SRP marinara from Short Road Pizza in London, and the classic margherita from Pizzeria da Attilio in Naples. However, first place went to New York.

Time Out named the Cacio e Pepe slice from Mama's Too pizzeria in Manhattan the best pizza in the world in 2026. The dish combines mascarpone, aged mozzarella, pecorino romano, and parmigiano reggiano — classic ingredients of Roman pasta, reinterpreted in a pizza format.

Time Out New York's food and drink editor, Morgan Carter, describes her experience as follows: after a brief baking in the oven, all the flavors "sounded in perfect harmony" — from the creamy mascarpone to the characteristic pungency of aged cheeses.

Time Out has published a complete list of the best pizzas in the world, as well as a selection of favorites in New York, on on its website.
